Drying clothes without a tumble dryer at home is one of the most tedious chores.

Especially in winter, this can be a daunting task. However, we have seven tips on how to quickly dry clothes indoors, and a guide on how long it will take.

Before you start washing, make sure that the settings you choose can wring out the clothes before you start the drying process.

The best way is to choose the highest speed setting of the washing machine. If there is a lot of excess water after washing, you can also wring out the clothes by hand.

If you rent a house or live in an apartment, you may not be allowed to hang your clothes to dry outside, so you need to make the most of your indoor living space.

Clothes rails and heated plates are a good investment, but make sure you get a drying rack that can be folded up and stored easily.

If you don’t have a clothes rail, we recommend that you be creative and hang things on the shower rail or lay your clothes flat on a towel.

Drying clothes outdoors or near windows that provide breeze and sunlight takes an average of 2-4 hours, depending on the material.

Drying indoors may take up to 24 hours.

For those of us who are eager to dry clothes, a hand-held hair dryer may be a good choice.

After wringing out the clothes as much as possible, lay them flat and blow them with hot or warm air from a hair dryer while rotating them frequently.

Turn the clothes over carefully and don't point the hair dryer too long to one place to avoid damage.

Rolling clothes into towels can easily absorb water. Lay the clothes flat on a fluffy towel and roll them up like sushi.

If you want to speed up this process, you can insert some paper towels between the towel and the clothes.

Although we never recommend using an iron on wet fabrics because it may damage the clothes, adding towels to the mixture can speed up the drying process.

Just put the towel on the ironing board, then put the towel on it. Iron the outside of the towel to help absorb moisture.

If you learn how to dry clothes strategically, you can avoid rewashing and drying them again when you can't get rid of the damp smell of them (or your home).

When drying clothes on a rack, shake them well and let them dry. This can help them dry faster and prevent them from wrinkles.

Probably the most surprising of these techniques, but small clothes can be dried in the oven.

Small items such as socks and underwear can take up to an hour to dry. The oven should be preheated, but it should be turned off when putting clothes in.

After preheating the oven at a temperature not higher than 100 degrees, turn off the oven and place a baking tray with your clothes lying flat.

If you don't have a clothes dryer or want to reduce the use of clothes dryers at home, these tips will provide you with many alternatives to using clothes dryers.
